Colour & Inspiration
Lindisfarne sits a mile off the north-east coast of England, in Northumbria. The community of monks that established itself there in the 6th Century played a crucial part in the story of Christianity in Britain, which was intertwined with the rise and fall of the early English kingdoms. Sometime in the 8th Century the beautifully illuminated Lindisfarne Gospels manuscript was written there, and is a work of astonishing beauty. This fibre is a blend of dark and light greens, like the island landscape, and shot through with a gorgeous flame of golden bamboo.
This blend is beautifully soft, thanks to the buttery Merino. The addition of Corriedale gives it plenty of texture and elasticity, and the bamboo adds a lovely drape and sheen.
This softness of this fibre is perfect for next to skin garments like neckwear and gloves, and will also work beautifully in hats or drapey cardigans or sweaters.
The blend is: 55% Merino, 30% Corriedale, 15% Bamboo
Each braid weights 100g.
